Gayle King Show

On the Gayle King Show ~ Economy Expert Ali Velshi, Frequent Flier Tom Stucker and Author, Kiri Blakeley

Gayle’s live and ready to go…and has lots to talk about today.  Let’s go…

  • On Tooth Fairy Economics – The tooth fairy’s going rate is between $2.50 – $3.00…but you know, the TF doesn’t have room for change…
  • On Capital Hill – After Obama’s address to the nation, “Please get on the phone and contact your congress person.”  People raised up to help.  Calls happened.  Emails happened.  But some, frustrated from the busy signals and the down email servers just decided to show  up.  This is ridiculous.  Everywhere that I’ve worked…if there is someone who refuses to cooperate and figure out how to work together…well, there fired.  This is just not acceptable.  THIS is not what the American people want…
  • On Ali Velshi, CNN’s Chief Business Correspondent on the Economy – Why is this issue so  important? The debt ceiling is about money we’ve already spent.  The budget and the cuts are about future spending.  Ali calls the comparison “Apples and Shampoo.”  Not raising the debt ceiling is like saying…thanks for letting us charge this TV 2 years ago…it’s been a great TV…but now, I’m not going to pay for it anymore.  The debt limit was hit back in May…but there is no wiggle room.  We have to figure this out and NOW!  My God, our Congress is making this country look stupid. Spelled out for all of us to understand, Ali did an awesome job of explaining this complex topic. Thanks Ali…Here’s some true and false questions to just make it a little more clear.
  • On Kiri Blakeley – Author of “Can’t Think Straight: A Memoir of Mixed-Up Love” – What? He’s gay? No way! When your gaydar stops working…Author Kiri Blakeley takes us on her own journey of crazy love and betrayal. Sounds like a very interesting story…but she’s survivied, is on the other side and now, has a book and a story. Everything happens for a reason. Trying to be the optimist…how am I doing?
  • On the Best Towns for Singles – Get ready…Chicago, NYC, Las Vegas, Austin and New Orleans!  Here come the singles!  THIS must have been my error…I was looking for peace and tranquility…
  • On Utah’s  – Did you know that when you are arrested, you don’t have to tell the police anything about you?  Happened in Utah.  WOW.
  • On Tom Stucker, the 10 million mile “Fly Guy” – About 20 years to get there, he’s flying a lot!  Auto industry consultant for sales and sales management, he’s been just about everywhere.  United is “his friendly skies” and he’s giving tips on flying and on his tips and tricks.  Traveling as a couple? Book the aisle and the window…leave the middle open. Nothing to lose. Luggage? Get on the plane early…and be LAST if you have no bags. Listen to the tips on the clip below! They are fantastic! Not an anonymous flier anymore, United has even put his name on a plane.  GET OUT!  Well, congratulations Tom.  If you are reading this, can you throw me some of those miles?…I need to get to Atlanta for the OYou conference…and will be forever grateful!  I’m a dreamer…but that’s a good thing!
  • Mr. 10 Million Miles…how cool is he!!!

  • On some good news – Raquel Nelson who lost her son from jay walking…the judge has offered her community service or a new trial instead of the 3 years of jail.

And…Gayle is CLUB Isaiah in the Old Spice Guy vs. Fabio contest.  I think she might be just a little smitten…bet he smells good.
