Super Soul Sunday

Super Soul Sunday takes a Soulful Journey into the Wild with Cheryl Strayed

Just like most Sunday mornings, this one was much the same.  I woke to a beautiful sunrise and a great night’s sleep, made some strong coffee and turned on OWN.    As Super Soul Sunday has gone global, I’ve been enjoying the experience with the world but happy to see that this morning, we had an all new episode to enjoy.  Nestled in the nature of her own front yard, Oprah sat down with Cheryl Strayed, author of Wild and the CPR needed to kickstart the heart in Oprah’s Book Club to bring us a new version, Book 2.0.

As the hour interview opened up Cheryl’s life to us and to her Wild journey, it took us through a young woman’s search for strength,  understanding and ultimately, acceptance.  In turn, it led her on a much larger path than that of just the Pacific Crest Trail.  While she shares of times she was scared, out of money or even covered in frogs  or as she dealt with her humongous backpack she named, Monster, Cheryl and Oprah’s conversation open up an awareness that I didn’t actually see coming.  The path that opened up on Super Soul Sunday was greater than an 1,100 mile journey. It was a journey of lessons on self discovery and just as Oprah tweeted during the show, “All great journeys challenge your spirit and in the end lift your soul!”

Cheryl shared during the interview that “being fearless is not about being afraid, it’s about existing within the fear.” The journey of getting through anything is one that we all find somewhere in our lives and the question of diving into the unknown has left many stopped in their tracks.  “I never would have done it if I kept waiting on enough money,” Cheryl says reminding us that we can’t wait for the right time to come…because right now may just be as right as it gets!  So, if you missed Super Soul Sunday, you can find the full episode online for anyone in the world to enjoy!  If you only have a few minutes, indulge your soul and soak up some of insight with the videos below.  And next Sunday, grab your cup of coffee and join in the soulful stretches. You’ll be glad you did!
