Sundays Just Got Better on OWN with “Super Soul Sunday”

OWN introduced a new three hour block to its lineup each Sunday morning starting October 16th from 8-11AM. The programming is designed to help viewers “awaken to their best selves and discover a deeper connection to the world around them.” There will be a variety of different programming including interviews by Oprah with some of the most fascinating thinkers, documentaries, short-form content from Soul Pancake production company, never before seen episodes of “Oprah’s Soul Series” and so much more.

We have all been waiting for the Oprah-esk programming that would lift our spirits, help us to grow spiritually and encourage us to live our best life. OWN’s hopes are that “these programs present an array of perspectives on what it means to be alive in today’s world.”

The first block premieres this Sunday and will feature:

“The World Beyond”
Is there more to life than we can see? Oprah interviews Jonas Elrod, a young filmmaker who says he woke up one day and suddenly began seeing angels, demons, auras and ghosts. In the world television premiere of Elrod’s thought-provoking film “Wake Up,” directed by Elrod and Chloe Crespi and produced by Steve Hutensky, Elrod and his loving, but skeptical girlfriend Mara Evans travel the country seeking answers to his puzzling spiritual awakening from physicians, religious teachers, mystics and spiritual healers. How could a God-fearing man born in a God-fearing town in the South believe he can access other dimensions? Following the documentary, Oprah interviews Evans to discover what it’s like to live with Elrod as he grapples with his uncanny “gift.” Plus, the debut of a series of short films that explore “life’s big questions,” produced exclusively for “Super Soul Sunday” by Soul Pancake, the production company of “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson.

  1. I love Super Soul Sundays!!! I saw the second episode yesterday and even though I had already viewed “Crazy, Sexy, Cancer” I watched it all over again! I love the additions and comments before, during and after the shows. I hope this sticks around, because of this I am now a huge fan of Soul Pancake!
Thanks for hooking me up with a dose of soul Sundays… there is nothing like this on TV!

  2. I just left another letter somewhere here in cyberspace.
I would love to see Oprah speaking with Author: Alan Cohen
It would also be wonderful to see these Sunday enlightments repeated again during the week.
I find them so empowering and positive.
A story idea, intersting series idea came to me of previous prophets and their lives, past times of shined wisdom by those of light.
Always Blessings of lal – (love and light)
