I loved this week’s SoulPancake piece. It made me want to grab a camera and hit my street in search of everything beautiful. I have done this before and got trapped for hours on one street. But it always reminds me that all I have to do is open my eyes- it is always there.

Watching the Rainn Wilson interview on art, spirituality and beauty was so inspirational. Television is usually such a passive activity, but watching the “Framed” (Soul Pancake) short propelled me to start developing a new project for my art students. My desire is for this project is to get them to see the beauty in the everyday. To slow down, be present, and if only for a moment, be mindful.
I’m reaching out to a local businesswoman who owns a frame shop/gallery to propose a collaboration (an exhibit, should this assignment bear fruit) Thanks Rainn (and Oprah) for being the catalysis and wish me luck
