Rosie Show

Rosie Recap- Kevin Hart on “The Rosie Show”

Just as Rosie completely overhauled the office by knocking down the walls, she has really made Oprah’s old set her own. She has never looked more comfortable. Although the shows have all been great, after 3 months it seems that the show has found its foundational flow. As Rosie chatted it up with Google Pete (who I love), she shared a nasty tweet from Donald Trump. Pausing before she replied, Rosie simply informed the audience that she was going to host a Q&A following a new documentary that has won 8 documentary field awards, “You’ve Been Trumped.” Needless to say, it isn’t a flattering tribute to the film. I personally think Trump has a crush on Ro. His antics totally remind me of the boys in my 5th grade who tortured me before proclaiming their love. Just sayin’.

Before Kevin Hart took to the stage, Rosie introduced us to the man she mentioned yesterday who helped rescue her when she was locked out of her home…in the freezing cold with pajamas and bare feet. Rosie’s hero Joe was introduced to the audience and luckily OWN shared the clip of the story. Rosie’s thoughtfulness never ceases to amaze me. (Joe’s Resume)

Touting her next guest as the “funniest stand-up comic I’ve ever seen live in my life”, Rosie called Kevin Hart on set. As a former shoe salesman, he explained how he was pushed into stand-up by his co-workers. But his hard days are now behind him and he is no longer being hit by flying Buffalo wings. Sharing stories of how he developed his material, his 6 year old daughter getting caught with a cheat sheet and how happy he is after getting divorced….he was infectious.

I loved Kevin. He seemed to understand the importance of lessons in life and how each decision makes you who you are. There is no need to look back in regrets. Everything happens for a reason. With movies coming out as well as another spot on Modern Family, he is clearly doing something right.

As a new segment, Rosie is taking time to introduce us to her incredible staff. A mixmaster by rights, Parker Lee Williams is Rosie’s music supervisor. Son of a music man and a straight A student who moonlighted as a DJ and graffiti artist, we are fortunate that Parker finally settled into his career at Harpo. He is the man responsible for hip-hop flavor within The Rosie Show theme song. “It’s Rosie Baby!” Take a look at the piece he put together for Ro. It’s hilarious!
