When I saw that OWN was looking to cast a new show about freegans,  I honestly had never heard the term before.  My guess… freecycling vegans?  Yeah I know.  However I was in the general ballpark.  Apparently freeganism is an anti-comsumerist  lifestyle where people use alternative living strategies where they have limited participation in the conventional economy and partake in minimal consumption of resources.

With that said…OWN is looking for people who are passionate about Freegan alternative strategies for living.  So…do you have a friend or family member who perhaps makes their own clothes, insists on only homegrown food, or only  use alternative energy sources?  This newest docu-series hopes to highlight Freegans individuals and groups.
