On the Gayle King Show ~ CNN’s Ali Velshi, MTV’s Mark Goodman, Marcellus Wiley and Tim Zagat

Gayle’s Super Saturday 14 – a designer garage sale in the Hamptons and all for a good cause- Ovarian Cancer Research. Hot but worth it Gayle says, she and all of her sisters were ready to shop! It was a family affair with sisters and favorite daughter and son too. She was ready to shop and always looking for a bargain!

  • On the Budget Crisis – With the deal…was the crisis really averted? Or did Congress already do enough damage with all of this? What does Ali Velshi say? Is it a good deal? It’s a deal. Crisis averted… “Compromise is not always 50/50. Sometimes you give more to get to a greater goal…” Ali reminds us. But I 2nd his thoughts on “I would hope we don’t have to drive this bus to the edge of a cliff on an ongoing basis.” Perfectly said! Love Ali. Love smart funny men…just do!
  • On Original MTV VJ Mark Goodman talking about `MTV turning 30 – I’m a child of the MTV generation…back in the day when we watched it for music. Do they still make music videos? I mean…I know they do for us MTVers that have moved or rather, grown up and switched over to, VH1…but does MTV play music videos? Anyway, Mark Goodman…one of the cool original VJ’s is on Gayle and reminds me of…well, life 30 years ago..and life during middle school and MTV afternoons. So young…wow…can’t believe I remember…and I can’t believe it’s been 30 years.
  • On Marcellus Willey Inspired to Swim – Gayle reminds us of the story in Louisiana who 6 children died last year at a family reunion…and no body knew how to swim to help save them. Did you know that 70% of African Americans can’t swim? This tragedy inspired Marcellus to make a difference in his life, and by doing so, in other people’s lives too. SWIM Marcellus SWIM! Take what you fear…and approach it, overcome it, conquer it!
  • On Tim Zagat’s 10 New Rules for Dining – The CEO of Zagat Guides is bringing the etiquette list into the present. Rules change…No texting, tweeting, talking, email, or surfing at the table. So true… and what about the “No Kids Allowed” restaurants? Tim says…”you have the right to run your restaurant the way you want…” Diplomatic…but not sure I agree.
  • And U2 360 Degree tour is over…and it was an AMAZING SHOW! But it’s over…sorry people. Onto the week…happy Monday!
