About the Breaking News with Michelle Obama’s Flight last night– When they were flying back to D.C. from visiting Gayle in NYC, there was an air traffic controller problem and their flight had to be aborted. OH, not another error. Large planes are suppose to be 5 miles apart….but they were within 3 miles of each other. HELLO…is anyone up there in those towers? Scary!
About the new Airline Passenger Bill of Rights – Including full disclosure or fees….limiting tarmac delays…airlines have to reinburse the bag fee if they lose your bag…and an increase in compensation if you are bumped. Holy smokes. You mean, we may have some power over our lives AFTER we walk down the boarding gate? So, $1,300 is the new limit that you can be offered if you are bumped from a flight. Up from $800 of today AND they have to pay up to $650 to get you re-booked on another flight. This is what happens when you have unhappy travelers… we power UP!
About SKY-High Rage – We have a new survey out…and Gayle’s giving us the details. Worst major airlines – United. Worst overall – American Eagle. Most likely to be late – ComAir. Most likely to lose your luggage – American Eagle. But. the best performing airline in the US – Air Tran.
About the new Threat Levels – With the color coded system not really working for us anymore, it looks like life has been simplified for us. Elevated or Imminent. If you have a choice….elevated is the safer bet.
About Brett Michaels – After a little bit of flirting…Brett updates us on his health. An emergency appendectomy….on surviving a brain hemorrhage…to finding a hole in his heart…Brett talks about how he’s making the choice to be positive. And now, all this has moved him to get engaged…but no wedding date yet. “It may be a year…or 20 years…” What? And she’s really ok with that? But as he talks about his rock and roll life, Brett tells Gayle, “You and I are going to spend one night this summer on tour…” so Gayle can see just how awesome the rock and roll life is. Really? About Kristin Gore‘s new book, Sweet Jiminy – About 5 years ago, Kristin said that she started noticing articles about elderly Klansman being brought in and held accountable. As she looked more into it…she realized there was quite a story to tell here. So…her latest book, Sweet Jiminy, was born. Gayle gets personal and asks about her parents…and the announcement last year that they were separating and possibly divorcing. “How did it affect you?” Gayle asks. “I’m lucky that my family is tight knit and close…that bedrock love is there and solid and strong and that is what gets you through anything,” Kristin tells us. Bedrock love…I love that. Yes, that is what gets you through anything. Bedrock Love.
