Gayle King Show

On the Gayle King Show – Diane von Furstenburg & Ian Kerner, March 7, 2011

Gayle is talking about going to California over the weekend for Stedman’s 60th birthday…with her favorite son Will.  She had to take Will, since she always grabs the person next to her.  Moderate turbulence….Oh Gayle…we need to keep you on the ground!

About Charlie Sheen – Charlie is starting his own website, Sheen’s Korner…and he’s putting on his own crazy show.  Something about violent torpedoes of truth…or standing with the trolls…not at his best.  SNL had a field day…OMG, it was hillarious!  Special shout out from Gayle to Bill Hader on his great skit.  SNL…didn’t disappoint.

About Gas Prices – OUCH for all of us.  Will it change your driving habits?  YES.  Will it change our lives?  YES.  GasBuddy.com is an awesome website to find the lowest prices in your area.  YES.  It’s changing all of us….but wait, did you say Oprah is on her way with Kirby to check out the school in Africa?  OMG…see – inside glimpse.  Just love it…  Anyway, callers coming in…and people have to do what they have to do.  A friend of mine just got a new job only 45 minutes away….and spends 500 a month in gas alone just to get there.  OUCH.  Not good people….Lots of callers weighing in on this…price gauging?

About the Power of Advertising – Start everything with “Do not miss…” because Gayle can’t resist….

About Diane von Furstenburg – Gayle looks fabulous in Diane’s signature wrap dress…and Diane only wears her own designs…and why not?  They look great!  The wrap dress was created over 36 years ago…and still, it’s relevant.  Kate Middleton wears Diane…”The older I get, the more impressed I get with women…all women are strong…some of them are just afraid to show it.”  Diane talks about the DVF awards, created to celebrate women.  Beautiful….we need to be celebrated more…thank you Diane!

About Facebook Blamed for 1 out of 5 Divorces – Ian Kerner, Sex and Relationship Expert, tells us that all social media and technologies kind of flip everything.  ”Every relationship there should be windows and walls,” he says.  “All the energy that we should be putting into our own relationship is being put into these social networking sites.”  Addictive and easy to share more personal information and intimate details…and there we go.

But…Facebook has been connected to an increase in self-esteem.  Ian says he sees this with new moms, who are at home, with kids, and maybe a little disconnected from the world…but watch out for FB emotional infidelity, Ian tells us.  Don’t emotionally disconnect with those around you…

About Is it ever ok to tell a friend or family member that you don’t like their significant other? – Gayle would if they were a really good friend.  Ian says tell your family and your friends…it’s good to tell.  “When you tell your friends how you feel, it’s an opportunity to start that conversation…” Ian tells us.  I always say that you have to ask, “What are your intentions…” and if they are pure and come from your heart…then go with it.  I know that I would want my friends and family to tell me…in fact, they have…thank goodness…

About Miley’s Lindsay– On SNL…spot on and spot on funny…

Now, let’s go out and find some laughter in the day….
