Meditation: Focus

“When meditation is mastered,
the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place.” – Bhagavad Gita

Today, remember to pick something to focus on.  It can be as simple as the sound of your breath, the word “Om” repeated or the focus of filling your body with your breath and giving it energy.  Focus on that one thing.  When your mind starts to lose that focus, bring it back.  Meditation is not about getting so relaxed that your mind is not engaged.  It’s about quieting your world so that you can hear your own whispers and your own life.  Teaching yourself to be still… so that the world can come to you.  Give yourself 300 seconds today and find your focus and in the process, ignite your own unwavering flame.
