Coming this August, OWN will be adding “Extraordinary Acts of Courage” and “Home Takeover with Simon & Tomas” to its lineup.
“Extraordinary Acts” a half hour show that is scheduled to start airing on August 5th at 10 EST/9 C will share stories of everyday heros, thier brave actions and how the lives of all involved have changed because of the experience.
On Saturday, August 6th at 10 EST/9 C, “Home Takeover with Simon & Tomas” will start airing. This pairs Swedish interior designers Simon Davies and Tomas Cederlund together in this hour long series. I wonder what these two will be adding to the OWN decor…I can’t wait to see!
Also to look forward to in August is the long awaited for Docu-Series, “Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind,” premiering Sunday, August 28th at 10pm EST /9 c. Also, look for Carson Nation to make that shift over to Sunday nights, once Behind the Scenes finishes it’s run.
Sounds like Sunday will still be powerful on OWN. Let the new shows begin! We can’t wait!

My husband, Joseph Troy Turcott, was working two buildings away when the bomb exploded in Oklahoma City. Instead of running away from the bombed building, he ran to it, to help. Troy was one of the first civilians to arrive on the scene, before any first responders came. He pulled victims out, as many as possible. The fireman holding Bailey handed her to my husband, who gently lay her down on a shock blanket. In that now so-famous photograph, my husband is the one wearing the blue shirt, which we still have. He stood watch with a priest near the back of the building, as the children were brought out of the daycare center that day…saying prayers over their precious souls. My husband put his life on the line, a civilian, a man..an extraordinary act of courage. I saw the ad for this show. He is a hero. He has a story to tell. You will never be the same after hearing it.
