At a time when many people could really use the help, Suze Orman is joining the OWN team! So before you go and spend like crazy this holiday season, be ready to hear the truth come New Years. On January 9th, Suze will premiere in a new original series, “America’s Money Class with Suze Orman” on OWN.

Everybody knows that Suze has become the most honest and trusted peoples’ financial advisor. Although at times she can be tough, she always appears to be coming from a caring place…an honest place. Let’s just say my inner Suze has denied many a purchase.

Her six-episode money class will tackle difficult financial questions, help us all to make better choices in this stressful economy and set the foundation for our own financial future. According to OWN, “Suze will provide real information and essential tools to help viewers get on their feet and take the steps to get their money in control. Suze will also give viewers a chance to win up to $50,000 when they take her final exam at the end of the finale episode.” WOW! What an incentive. However the great news is that by watching all us can win – knowledge is power.

This master class on money will take place in a live studio allowing Suze a chance to talk address the audience questions as well as skyping in viewer questions. OWN has shared that she will cover topics such as: common money mistakes, financial infidelity, learning to prioritize debt, the real estate market, learning to talk about money with family, controlling spending, loans and where to invest.

An “Action Plan” will accompany each episode with simple steps and advice for OWN viewers. These plans will include subjects like debt and retirement, to student loans and unemployment. In addition, the show will feature an online companion on Oprah.com/moneyclass with financial resources to help us all along the journey.
