Oprah's Next Chapter

Fergie and Josh Duhamel on Oprah’s Next Chapter

Each Sunday offering new surprises and great guests, Oprah’s Next Chapter this week brought us a breath of fresh air…and we mean literally, fresh air. Sitting down at their own dream vineyard outside Santa Barbara, California, Fergie and her family offered Oprah an inside look at their lives and their story in their own words.  From the early days in Kids Incorporated, to the Black Eyed Peas, Oprah travels the journey of Fergie and her husband, handsome and talented Josh Duhamel (or as the women in my family know him as – Leo from All My Children).  Sharing home videos and personal responses to the world of being famous, both Fergie and Josh offer open dialog to trash magazines, gossip and more.  It was more personal and intimate than we’ve ever seen the couple and it was truly a breath of fresh air.

Sure the house is a little nicer…the food catered in…and the backdrop is extraordinary and breathtaking…but the people who sat down at the table with Oprah to talk about life, love and the world around them were the kind of people that you hope to have come into your lives.  Perhaps it’s Oprah asking all the right questions or the Next Chapter producers looking at the story from a great perspective…but I’ve got a feeling that this episode will make you see that these are simply grounded normal people living extraordinary lives and sharing a little bit with the world.

So, if this energy and flow come across in the grapes at Ferguson Crest Vineyard or in Josh’s new Save Haven movie, then sign me up for a wine and movie night…because this is exactly the kind of energy that I want in my own day.

From OWNExclusive Webisode: Fergie’s I Love Lucy Fantasy – Since launching Ferguson Crest, a boutique winery in Solvang, California, with her father, Pat Ferguson, Fergie has gotten involved in the winemaking process. Watch as she talks about picking grapes, crushing grapes and fulfilling an I Love Lucy fantasy by stomping grapes alongside her husband, actor Josh Duhamel.
