Hitting the stage Rosie looked refreshed and 5 years younger….like the weight of the world has been lifted. After explaining that Oprah surprised the cast at the end of last week with a party and a huge bottle of tequila, I am thinking maybe Rosie let loose a little this past weekend. Interestingly enough, at the O You! Conference in Atlanta this weekend, Oprah also seemed to be loving life. Now I wonder if maybe she was still intoxicated. I am TOTALLY kidding. Oprah was fired up and focused, just like RO is tonight. Being that Rosie hadn’t taken a shot in 30 years, they showed a clip of Oprah teaching Rosie to slam one back. I’m thinking it probably would have been better to just say no! That looked painful.
The show then throws to audience questions. When asked about her worst date, Rosie shared a story about dinner with a woman who won a date with her in an auction. When Rosie arrived at the restaurant, the woman was hammered. Trying to encourage the woman to call a friend and head home, the woman decided to get into her car and drive off. Unable to stop her, RO ended up following her. I am thinking call the cops. This is nuts. When the woman came upon a stoplight, she got out the car and went back to Rosie to double check that she didn’t want to get a drink somewhere. Denied, she headed back to her car which was now locked! Borrowing a tiny finger-file knife from Rosie, she proceeded to try to cut through the top of her convertible Mercedes. Luckily the police showed up and took care of the situation. NOW that is a bad date!
Back from break, Sharon Osbourne joined Rosie on set. After talking a bit about work, her days of judging on X-Factor in England, their show that was on MTV, the kids and their love for Ozzy, Kelly joined them. She has really grown up from the 15 year old kid on “The Osbournes”. Now getting ready to turn 27, she is plugging her new movie “So Undercover” which is still in production. Of course, the first censor beeps are thrown in this interview. First to Rosie and the second to Kelly during a conversation on how to treat parents. Well, we needed to get those out of the way. Now the face of “Material Girl”…Madonna and her daughter Lourdes’ clothing line, Kelly has clearly grown up and appears to be doing great. That is so nice to see.
The segment took me back in time. Boys II Men entertained the crowd with “I’ll Make Love To You” a classic from 1994…and an emotional trigger song for lots of people my age. It was awesome and they sounded great. Apparently Justin Bieber was inspired by them and they just recorded with him. Their new CD “Twenty” is coming out later this month.
The show ended with a new game of “Mommy Mia”. It was basically the newlywed game but it was about knowing your mom. The Osbournes played against audience members – and WON! The famous duo won mom and daughter Pampered Chef cookware, gave it to audience members and called for the confetti! In all, another great night on OWN!
