Zach and Kristina…
Zach is the first finalist….on the first Your OWN show show….Kristina is the second. The prizes for the winner are….of course, your own show on OWN, $100,000 from Kohl’s, a $100,000 from Kohl’s Cares donated in your name to the charity of your choice and a brand new 2011 Chevy Equinox.
The last mentor….Mark Burnett…the producer of the winning show….and this show too! So, this week….here come the pilots! Here come the pilots! YEAH!
Kristina picks Terey and….Elizabeth….for Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco Productions. Kristina’s cooking show…getting people in the kitchen and eating well. Kristina’s Fearless Kitchen.
Zach picks Ryan and Alicia….for Zach Anner Productions. Zach – Rolling around the world…with Zach in it.
The Prep – The task is to produce the pilot for their shows.
In comes Mark Burnett…into Zach’s meeting. “Oprah’s all about authenticity….what is real,” Mark tells Zach. Be yourself….
Now, coming into Kristina’s meeting…she’s nervous. “Nervousness and excitement come from the exact same place. Turn nervous energy into a positive excitement,” Mark coaches Kristina.
Mark likes both show concepts…but he says, “It’s all about execution….what’s on that screen is what’s going to matter….”
The Taping – Zach’s taping all around LA…with an ambitious day. 6, 7, 8 locations….with lots of work…and along comes a cough and his energy is just dipping. Ryan is trying to keep his energy up….and both Ryan and Alicia have been in his corner….and holding him up….as a cold takes over. Editing for Zach too….putting all of the pieces together and making is a show.
Kristina’s ambushing at the drive through…with her friend…and taking someone into the kitchen and teaching them to cook something fresh and healthy. She’s learning along the way…but they are taping. Then….8 hours to edit the show into a 3minute 30 second show…
Finally, we get to see the hard work and actual pilot presentations from the two. Mark Burnett and Oprah come out to talk to the final two.
Team Kristina’s pilot is a glimpse into her fearless kitchen….and her personality…and her life. She is the friend that keeps you going…and pulls you along for the ride. “Great energy,” says Mark. “It felt real to me,” says Oprah. It’s got its own flavor…it’s OWN flavor….
Team Zach’s pilot was SENSATIONAL! It was fantastic! “Find a balance between your wisdom and your jokes,” teaches Oprah. So…from the pilot, I LOVED IT! I WILL watch that show. Roll with it…I’m rolling with it…I’m there….I love it! Zach, you are a star!
The Deliberation…the winner is…- Sitting right on stage…Oprah and Mark deliberate…can Zach handle the grueling schedule and physical demand? How many things can you cook in the kitchen? What show will prevail? Before telling the news, they bring out Kristina’s husband and Zach’s mother….the people that love them to share this moment…exactly what Oprah would do…so thoughtful….
So….will I be traveling around the world with Zach….smiling, laughing…and just rolling with it? Or will I be cooking in the fearless kitchen with Kristina…because I’m getting hungry! And the answer is……………………..
