Lots to cover today for Gayle…but all I keep wondering is how if favorite son, Will. Will, how are you? Oh Gayle…inquiring minds. But today…we are starting with Bieber and his “baby daddy” story. Statutory rape for the woman…and no one wants to believe its true.

•About Donny Deutsch and Spinning the News – Donny has Bieber fever…but doesn’t think that this “scandal” does anything bad for him…but may give him that edge to push him out of the boyishness and into the mankind-side. OH, but Gayle points out that this would make him a “cheater cheater pumpkin eater.” Oh, BABY BABY BABY OH say its not so. Kim K.’s marriage meltdown compared to the simpleness of “it’s a cup of coffee.” OH, but I love coffee…but yes, the marriage lasted about that long. I think Kim just had second thoughts…a little too late. So, like with any good “purchase,” she’s returning it within the 90 day return policy….oh, wait. It wasn’t a purchase. Hmmm…well, that would have been easier. And Herman Cain – Donny says people are voting for him to stay in the show…but Gayle points out that “people just want to tell you the truth…” When people dance around…they are hard to believe. Mr. Cain, stop dancing.

On the Gayle King Show – Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson flirts, Cheryl Dellasega talks about mean girls, Amber Heard on “Rum Diaries” and more…

Today, Gayle is looking beautiful in hunter green…and ready to have some FUN! Do I detect a little girlish nerves?  I think her smile is just a little bigger today…don’t you?

  • About Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – Gayle confesses that she changed her dress three times in anticipation for this interview.  While Gayle is smiling a little…it seems that Curtis is smiling just a little bit more.  Talking about “Playground,” his new book that deals with bullying and about a whole new side of 50 Cent that I never knew about him.  “Your reputation is tough guy…do you mind that?” Gayle asks.   ”It helps on some levels…” he admits.  And I think that Gayle is flirting a little…about introducing him to Will and Kirby.  I can hear them now, “OH MOM…”  but there’s a little coming back to her too from Curtis…  While Gayle says she’s just playing around,   you KNOW that if 50 Cent was bold enough, he’d just ask her out.  It is LIVE TV after all.  Wait…I think he just DID…but Gayle side stepped it to his charity, Street King and 50′s fight against hunger.  Oh…the playfulness of Curtis and Gayle…too cute.

  • About ”Mean Girls Grown Up” - Gayle is talking with author, Cheryl Dellasega about her book and this topic.  Talking about bullying and the inner insecurity that fires it, it’s a topic of the day and everyone seems to  have come across one during their lifetime.  I wonder what the world would look like without bullies…probably pretty happy.   Anyway, the topic here is more about mean women…and how there are just subtle differences.  Queen Bees, Middle Bees and Afraid-To Bees.

  • About the Dallas Manhunt for a Criminal – Gayle is bringing us a story that I haven’t heard of.  This criminal attacker is targeting women in their 50′s who were in the same sorority back in college.  A large black man in his mid 20′s to 30′s.  Robbie Owens from CBS 11 news in Dallas gives us the update.  Joining in the conversation is Pat Brown, Criminal Profiler. While all associate with the Delta Sorority, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they were in the sorority during college,  Pat tells us.  Apparently, women can join the Alumni association as a professional woman.  All of the victims were attacked in their homes at night.  Just too scary.  Home security system and dogs…start with that ladies.  Wow…just too frightening…

Apparently so…since we are all curious human beings. BUT has it gotten out of control? Everyone has an opinion…but with tabloid craziness and all, it seems a litle larger than life these days. I mean, I’m all for accountability…but I’m also pro-privacy. So, do men and women gossip differently? Professor John Locke, author of “Duels and Duets: Why Men and Women Talk So Differently” Skypes in for the conversation and says, “They do. They gossip for different reasons…and also serves as a function and keeps people in line.” Something to talk about…and if I talk about this, is it gossiping?

Gayle..it has been a long week.  It’s the OYou! hangover we all have!  But let’s do this!  It’s Friday…and we’re going to have some fun!

•About the Tattoo Mattel Doll – After watching “Miss Representation” on OWN last night…I’m not sure that Barbie going all tattoo on us is a good thing.  Hmmmm…..
•About Christina Ricci  – Gayle is dressed in her Pan-Am blue in honor of this interview.  With white gloves in tow, Gayle and Christina have a fun and friendly conversation.  “Strangely adorable,” Gayle calls her.  So true.  “I look in the mirror and I just see me,” Christina says when asked about how she feels about herself.  And her favorite tattoo?  Jack…you’ll have to watch the interview to find out who he is! :)   Sophistication and glamour back to television …is what Gayle calls the show.  I guess I’ll have to tune in…just to check it out!

•About Kris Carr and Super Soul Sunday on OWN – Living started for Kris when she found out she had cancer.  “Crazy Sexy Life” is the documentary featured on OWN’s Super Soul Sunday this week.  Diagnosed on Valentine’s Day in 2003, Kris says that this is when she started her love letter to her two lives.  The documentary was filmed four years ago…and Kris lives with cancer and has lived with it for the last 9 years – Stage 4.  “Mine is the kind of cancer that doesn’t go away,” Kris shares.  “I was diagnosed at 31 and was told that I wouldn’t make it to 40.  I just turned 40.” Inspired to start living, cancer has changed her life and in this documentary, she’s changing other people’s lives.  I can’t wait for Super Soul Sunday.  If you haven’t seen it or if it’s too early for you, set your DVRs and watch.  Last week was FANTASTIC and this week…it looks like it’s even MORE SUPERness for the SOUL!  I love this interview with Gayle and Kris.  Cancer is not an easy subject…but Kris and Gayle bring us into this conversation…I can’t wait for Super Soul Sunday…Don’t miss it!

•About Anna and Lizzie Post carry on the Etiquette – As the great great granddaughters of Emily Post, they are carrying on the tradition of manners and bringing it current in their new updated version of “Emily Post’s Etiquette: Manners for a New World.”  With a major overhaul on everything, the book weighs in just over 3 lbs (but feels like 5lbs!) and it’s just a few reminders of “Please” and “Thank you’s” and being polite.

•About Paige Davis on “Home Made Simple” – Paige has a new show on OWN and it’s cute how she is meeting Gayle for the first time via satellite.  OK…and how funny that on Gayle’s LIVE show, the satellite goes black…more than once.  The show premiers this Sunday, just after Super Soul Sunday…so watch it.  It’s about basics, essentials, time and money saving tips, and making life easier and personal.  So…watch it and at home, let Paige help you to live your best life.

  • On Caroline Manzo – Wife, mother and a “Bravo Real Housewife of New Jersey”. She is Gayle’s first “real housewife” she’s broken down and had the kool-aide. “The toughest marshmallow you’ve every met,” Caroline calls herself. Seems normal enough with Gayle…so why all the drama, Bravo? Oh, yes…it’s a real show… Someday, I’m going to have to break down and watch… Caroline makes it not look so scary to watch…

    • Onto the day. Gayle, stay away from the late night Cheetos and the cranky sales people on the phone at 3am!

    On the Gayle King Show ~ Find Out What it’s Worth with Lara Spencer and Dishin with Giada De Laurentiis

    As we move into the week, Gayle has a lot on her mind.  It’s been a busy weekend…

    • On the current US Political Drama -  Working late and over the weekend gave us more politics and still, everyone in Congress is playing Russian roulette with our credit rating.  Proving a point and being uncompromising, our government seems to think that to work means that it’s “there way or no way.” For the U.S. to be warned of the consequences…and still, for no progress…well, it’s so not acceptable.  Where’s Donald Trump.  We need a “You’re Fired…” fast round…
    • On Lara Spencer “It’s Worth What?” – Lara is not just at ABC but is also sharing her passion with NBC with her new reality show game show, “It’s Worth What?”  Taking that fantastic Antiques Road Show moment and giving it a Price is Right feel, contestants compete for up to $1,000,000!  Wow…worth a look…because I love that moment…just when they tell you what it’s worth…especially when it shocks me too!  It’s worth what????

    • On Addiction and the Death of Amy Winehouse – “You’ve got to keep trying and you can’t give up…” is the reminder that Addition Specialist, Kristina Wandzilak gives us.  She visited Gayle back in the days of the Charlie Sheen meltdown (use the search on our site for that entry…it’s really good).  Life is worth too much to not be 100%  present…
    • On “Going Unconnected” in today’s world  - What is it like?   University of Maryland did a little study…and when they were unconnected, they were lonely and depressed  Most of the time, I’m just frustrated. 
    • On Giada De Laurentiis and Life - Giada is sitting pretty with Gayle this morning talking family, love of food, and royal snacks.  Just wonderful…besides the evolution of the OWN network, my secret passion and love take me to the Food Network…Gotta love them!   With the honor of cooking for the Royals during their visit to California and she was jumping for joy!

    • On Wedding Season and Marriage – Don’t forget to SMILE on  your wedding day…
    • On Summer Skip Days – The best excuse ever used for getting out of work?  Here are some…”plane can’t land…,” “frogs in my house,” and “my IUD fell out…” So crazy! I am seriously NOT creative enough…that’s for sure!
    • On the Boss as Governor – Just for fun, the poll picked the Boss. Not sure he wants the job…but he’s a LOVED Jersey boy!
    • On Jessica Silvester McNamara and Amsale are taking weddings – Amsale Aberra, Co-Founder and Creative Director for Amsale is talking the importance of the dress…and the steps to get it right. Jessica from O Magazine and new bride had some very clear ideas of what she wanted…It’s all about the dress and the cake. After that…it’s all good.

    • On Cee Lo – Stuck in traffic and running a little late… Cee Lo finally gets to Gayle’s and it’s all good today! A coach on “The Voice,” Cee Lo talks about bringing back show business to what it should mean…splendor and all. Gayle is excited to be sitting with Cee Lo and a few minutes in, he warms up…settles in and starts smiling. It’s very sweet…

    • On a good time this weekend…Gayle recommends “Friends with Benefits.” Get ready to LOL….and enjoy the weekend!
