I think it’s ridiculous. Natalie Portman is a grown adult – she’s not an 18 year old young starlet. She’s engaged and her partner is engaged – so technically, there is no “single parent” thing happening here. Gayle King just averted a crisis as the men on her staff go into a panic….her bra strap was falling and showing… Crisis averted…. too funny. Anyway, the show is packed with potential. Jay Pharoah from SNL and Esperanza Spalding, Grammy’s best new artist are in the house! But first….let’s talk about what’s going on in the world…or at least in Gayle’s world.
About Apple’s IPad 2 – Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, showed up for the big reveal to show us the complete new design…and it will be available on March 11th! Just in time for my birthday. The “tablet computer” from the Taco Bell building – Apple’s original building was in my home town…and looked exactly like you would think Taco Bell Headquarters would look like.
About Aretha’s health and losing weight – What happened? Gayle wants to know…but Aretha Franklin is not confirming what the problem has been….but that she is in recovery and has lost a lot of weight -85 pounds in the last eyar. A pain in her side was the first sign that something was wrong. Let’s just hope that the pain is gone…and Mrs. Respect is on her way to lots of healthy days! [read more…]

Good Morning Gayle….thanks for braving the friendly skies and getting back to the East coast…I’m thinking with all of the traveling, maybe you need to have a crew on the West coast too. It would sure make your life easier, don’t you think? Anyway….onto the day!
- About Oscar Weekend and the flights…Gayle is on too many planes and with too many bad experiences. Travel safe!
- About the Oscar’s recap – What did you think? Looks like the numbers are down….Anne Hathaway and James Franco…I think they were cute…and I love James Franco…but Justin Timberlake would be soooooooooo funny. I thought the show was great too Gayle…I just wish that James had mentioned that he was tweeting video of the show too…maybe the show could have actually gotten a little more techy and given us a peak at that as he tweeted it. Yes, I did just say ‘techy.’ Don’t beat up the hosts…it was all on the producers if you didn’t like it. I actually did like it….and I’ve got a new phrase – “Going all-Oscar on the situation…on you…on me” which means … dropping the “F-bomb” usually because you are too excited to think before you speak – like Melissa Leo, Best Supporting Actress winner this year. Welcome…directly from the red eye…and the All-Star game. Gayle is not the flyer for bad weather conditions…and for finishing the movies on the flights. So, she’s asking her viewers…how did they end? Don’t tell me….I don’t want to know!
- About NBA All Star weekend recap – Josh Grobin…Stevie Wonder….John Legend…JayZ and Beyonce, Sean Pdiddy, and Justin Bieber…and of course Gayle and favorite son and daughter….
- About the movie endings..lalalalalalalala…I haven’t seen the movies….so definitely want to not hear how they end.
- About the royal wedding – Gayle really wants to go as a plus one…but she was not one of the 1900 invited. Kayne, the Elton’s, the Beckhams…and all the rest of us are invited to sit around our TV sets and watch it unfold up close and not so personal in front of us…
- About Missing Kyron Horman – 6 year old disappearance is still missing…and it’s so sad. His mother is refusing to let this story die and good for her. Roseburg Oregon….is where Terry Horman has moved to – the step-mother who seems to know more than she is telling.
- About Senator Scott Brown from Massachusetts – Opened up in a new book about being sexually abused when he was a child. Bravo for speaking up. Giving it words takes away the power it has over you….and gives you back your own power. I didn’t know who he was before…but now, have genuine respect for him.

About the little things….IF you get today….you may have a child born on 11/11/11. Crazy….but I guess for some….this would be important. Update on your status people…Facebook has added civil unions and domestic partnerships. Yeah, FB. The on-air drama with Celine Branson….the Grammy correspondent…checks out that she’s fine. Doctors say it wasn’t a stroke….it was a complex migraine. And Palin’s hints at the White House…I’m just thinking, it’s a little unpatriotic to slam the current president….just sayin….that along with a little prayer that starts, “please no….”
About The Five Browns Sex Scandal – 3 girls and 2 boys. Keith Brown….pled guilty on felony charges of sodomy and sexual abuse of a child. The women came forward…to share their story. Now, Desirae Brown, 32, Deondra Brown, 30 and Melody Brown, 26. The abuse started when the youngest daughter was 6 years old. Stunned and shocked….you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Doctor Gayle Saltz that is on says, “It’s shocking, but it’s not. This can happen in any family.” I am so proud of these young women and their strength and bravery. Didn’t other adults see this….and why does the mom stay with him? I’m with Gayle….without question….if your husband abuses your daughter….it’s a deal breaker. I’m completely with you. I am so proud of you Brown girls. This makes you stronger…and saying it out loud take the power away from it…. And gives you back your power…and you are all 3 very powerful young women. [read more…]
