Rosie Show

Rosie Recap- Jenny McCarthy on “The Rosie Show”

Before I even begin I have to give props to Hollee….she is doing such an awesome job! I am really hoping the show keeps her around. Rosie began the show talking about twitter and Sandusky. For those of you who don’t tweet, you really should give it a chance. The communication is always brief and typically gets right to the point – in no more than 140 characters (and that includes spaces). Now, going on allows you to follow people but it doesn’t mean they will respond. I have been blogging on Rosie and I am not really sure she even knows it. BUT that isn’t the point. For people like me who are self-diagnosed ADHD, it is perfect. Follow @Rosie and @thedailyOWN – it’s totally worth it!

She brought up something that my only family has been discussing for days. When something happens in the media (such as the Sandusky incident), it isn’t hard to be transported back to your own pain and relive the nightmare again. The whole ordeal has really affected people I love. Rosie is right. It is PTSD. Sleepless nights, anger, memories flooding back, sadness and outrage. It is hard. Suddenly the faces of people begin to remind you of the person who violated you. It is a nightmare and more people SHOULD be talking about it. It may not be brave to speak up against child molestation but it is important…and I applaud her for that. See what Rosie tells her own kids to keep them safe.

She commented on how the Herman Cain’s campaign was telling women to think twice about coming forward with claims of sexual harassment. Here a man is running for president and his camp is threatening women. What century is this? Rosie said it perfectly, “What I say to ladies and men and boys, OPEN your mouth. If there’s something you believe in just open it. You know say it. Get it out….It’s the only way we are going to solve all the societal illth.” I totally agree!

Rosie’s one and only guest was Jenny McCarthy. I am secretly hoping that she is taking over for Gayle. Fingers crossed people! She and Rosie talked about Catholic school, autism, dating and even purgatory. She took the time to set the record straight on the vaccine issue. Her organization doesn’t say “no vaccines”, it says spread them out. Not all kids can handle so many vaccines so close together. Why not spread them out? That sounds totally logical.

She then took a few questions from parents with autistic children. A lot of the resources she mentioned are on her site Generation Rescue …check it out!

However both of them lit up when talking about Byron Katie, a woman who changed both of their lives. Here is her website if you want to check her out. Jenny claims she can flip your life around and help you find peace.

The best part was when Rosie outed Jenny for being on Match.com. Seriously! She is using her married pregnant sister’s photo. Oops! She hasn’t told her yet. Knowing that she is on the hunt, Rosie put together her OWN version of the match game for Jenny. By the end of the show, she will be meeting a new man. Wouldn’t that be an awesome story to tell the grandkids? “Luv Match” was set up by Ro and her team to find Jenny a date. After a few questions asked in a hilarious voice, Jenny selected bachelor #…oh come on! I wouldn’t ruin it for you.

Ending with hearts and roses, Rosie sent the lucky couple off to a romantic dinner…with a film crew. Good luck, Jenny!
