OWN Network Miracle Detectives : Medical Intuitive – Jason Ward

This week’s episode opens with the miracle detectives heading to Phoenix for a case involving a medical intuitive. Jason Ward believes he can see things that aren’t visible to the average person. He is able to see the health of someone by seeing into their bodies. Jason calls what he does “body scanning”. He claims he can see into the human body…seeing the organs and heart beating, blood cells and even the food being broken down. His first experience occurred in a pharmacy where he was able to see into a man’s chest. He noticed 2 tumors and the man overheard and was shocked because Jason was accurate. He believes he is 90% accurate if not closer to 100% since some things are found up to 6 months in advance.

Dr. V wonders if the imagination and fantasy are making Jason see things. She doesn’t believe there is any credible evidence to validate the existence of ESP or clairvoyance. On the other hand, Randall understands there are skeptics but he believes it is possible someone could have ESP or psychic powers.

Randall started off by interviewing Randall Christensen a former client of Jason’s. He had 4 ½ years of acute intestinal pain and doctors ran multiple tests and could not find a diagnosis. Jason told him that he had a bug or infection in his small intestines. Randall was then tested and found to have a parasite and bacteria infection. He was put on the strongest medication. The symptoms came back and the doctors discovered Randall had a partial obstruction. He could have died within hours. He credits Jason for saving his life.

In the meantime, Dr V set up an experiment to test Jason’s abilities. Prior to the experiment, Dr. V met with Dr. Michael Shermer whom gave her advice on tools Jason may use to deceive her. He reminded her to pin down specifics and don’t allow a space for wiggle room. That will help her to know if it is true. Dr. V brought in a healthy looking test subject, Joe, whose main complaint was the pain he has due to the reconstructive surgery he had done on his shoulder. Jason came up with a long list of issues but failed to identify this specific one. However, some of the items on the list were true to Joe but he had failed to mention them to Dr. V. Joe felt the situation was “surreal”.

Dr. V felt so many of the issues on Jason’s list are common issues for many people. Jason had failed to pick up on the most important complaint Joe had…therefore he doesn’t have x-ray vision. She felt as if Jason threw out a bunch of symptoms and some were bound to stick. On the other hand, Randall was curious if maybe Joe’s shoulder was healing and that is why Jason didn’t pick up on it. He was concerned that if he was 90% accurate, how could he have missed the shoulder? He agrees he doesn’t have x-ray vision, but believes he has some seeing of some sort. To him, medical intuitive might actually be a reality.

As for me… the shoulder was a HUGE miss, but there were a couple of issues he did pick up for the test subject. I believe Jason’s gift is possible and there are things that I can’t explain. His gift isn’t 100%…as shown with this experiment. It would have been easier to jump to his defense if he hadn’t been so cocky. The testimonial was a great story but Jason’s diagnosis was so vague. Maybe that is how his gift works. It sure would be more helpful if his readings were more detailed.

So…if someone’s psychic abilities don’t test at a 100%, does that mean they don’t have any?
